Mushrooms are rich in vitamin D 2, most vitamin B and minerals like potassium and selenium. Low in calories they are perfect for a weight loss program. Some research are ongoing to explain the properties of different mushrooms and possible toxicity of others (especially the common white button mushrooms could have negative incidence on oestrogen production in postmenopausal women leading to cancer)
